Ian Kerr
Ian Kerr – Chief Executive Officer

Ian Kerr was appointed CEO of Bolero in May 2014. Ian has over 25 years’ experience in financial technology in a range of organisations including NCR and IBM and has been based in the US and Singapore during his career. More recently Ian was the CEO of Level Four Software who were acquired by Clear2Pay in 2011 with Ian leading the integration with two other companies to form a specialist payments testing business unit. Ian joins Bolero from Creditcall, a growing PSP gateway and payment technology company, where he was COO.

Ian has the responsibility to lead Bolero through the next phases of global growth.


Paul Mallon – Head of Customer Engagement and Legal

Paul is both the co-founder of Bolero and the co-inventor of the innovative Bolero patent. Prior to joining Bolero, Paul was General Counsel and Company Secretary of TT Club, which is a leading global insurer of marine liability risks for ship owners, logistics providers, ports and terminal operators.

As a Maritime law expert specialising in Bills of Lading, Paul is the architect of the Bolero Rulebook and Bolero’s legal structures. He also acts as General Counsel and Company Secretary.

Simon Streat – Vice President Product Strategy

Simon joined Bolero International as VP Product Strategy in March 2015. With over 20 years of experience in top level sales, marketing and product leadership positions, Simon recently utilised his management experience as Director of Global Channel Sales at Truphone and before that he was Managing Director of Experian’s UK & I SME business. He also has an extensive background in developing marketing programmes, new customers and channels, defining and implemented propositions in the UK, EMEA, US and Asia for BT Group Plc, TIW, 3Com Corporation, Northern Telecom, Alcatel.

Notable accolades at include successfully launching Experian’s SME propositions, BT Openzone, building and managing two fully functional SME centric mobile operators in Spain and Italy.

Simon has responsibility for developing and driving the current and future product strategy.


Mark Harrap – Vice President Technology

Mark Harrap was appointed VP Technology of Bolero in February 2014. Since starting his career in technology consulting for blue chip organisations, he has gained 20 years of experience in the software and product development industry, holding a number of senior executive positions including Consulting Partner whilst living and working in San Francisco and Development Director for the global talent measurement specialist SHL Group Ltd.

Mark has held overall responsibility for managing the design, development and support of online products used by thousands of clients on a global basis, combining in-house teams with outsourced resource and will be responsible for the continued development of Bolero’s comprehensive cloud-based trade finance applications.

Luc Volckaert – Vice President Technology Infrastructure

Luc joined Bolero in 2000 from SWIFT, the provider of network services to the banking community. At SWIFT he held the position of Director of Business Solutions and delivered secure network services for CREST, CLS, RTGS+ and EnquiryLink. As Chief Architect he was responsible for architecting the Next Generation of the SWIFT services. Prior to joining SWIFT, Luc worked for CAP Gemini managing fixed price projects delivering solutions to major Belgian corporates.

Luc oversees Bolero's Operations, Product Management and Development. For more than 30 years he has been responsible for bringing mission critical products and services to the market.
