Nicholas Barber - Chairman, Bolero


Nicholas Barber CBE spent his executive career with Ocean Group, now Exel, a global leader in supply chain management. After working for Ocean's Blue Funnel Line in Liverpool, Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong he moved to London to help lead the integration of newly acquired Wm Cory. In 1972 he became managing director of Cory Distribution. After three years as a Divisional Director with the National Enterprise Board he became head of Ocean's liner shipping division.

As Group Chief Executive from 1986 he led a strategic transformation which focused on Ocean's information-intensive businesses in logistics, particularly MSAS and McGregor Cory. Today Exel is a world leader in Supply Chain Management.

Since his retirement he has served on several boards including Royal Insurance (Deputy Chairman), Costain, Albright & Wilson, Orion Publishing (Chairman), Bristol & West (Deputy Chairman), Fidelity Japanese Values and The Maersk Co. He has also served as a Governor of London Business School and Trustee of the British Museum. He is Chairman of Oxford's Ashmolean Museum and a member of Columbia Business School's Board of Overseers.

Arthur Vonchek - CEO, Bolero

Arthur Vonchek was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Bolero in July 2003.  He has 25 years experience in the software industry, and has held a number of senior executive positions including SVP EMEA at Manugistics, a leader in Supply Chain Management solutions and SVP EMEA at BroadVision, an early e-Commerce market leader.

Arthur was educated at Bristol University in England where he received an honours Degree in Pure Mathematics.

Christopher Brotchie – Baring Private Equity Asia


Christopher Brotchie retired in March 2004 as Chief Executive Officer of the Baring Private Equity Partners Group. During his tenure baring Private Equity partners grew into a global firm with US$2bn of funds under management and a portfolio of 200 companies across 29 countries.

Christopher continues to serve on the Investment Committee/Advisory Boards of the Baring Asia, Baring India and Baring Vostok Private Equity Funds where he acts in a non-executive capacity as a Senior Advisor.

Prior to joining Baring he arranged the buyout of Unico Inc’s European business to form Macromatik GmbH of which he was a founding shareholder and member of the board. He started his career as a development engineer on digital automation and computerised motion control systems with Lucas Aerospace. His international business experience includes 16 years based in Germany and 5 years in Singapore before returning to the UK in 2000

Peter Skinner - Apax Partners


Peter Skinner joined Apax Partners in 1994 to advise management teams of portfolio companies, helping them execute their plans, taking a line management role where needed.

During his time with Apax he has been Chairman of Pan Graphics, Tertio Telecom, Tertio SMS, Amphion and Digital Bridges, CEO of Tetrel and ESM, director of Bolero and Evolving Systems and has acted in an advisory role to several other companies.

Prior to joining Apax, he spent 10 years each with Plessey and ITT/STC in a variety of manufacturing roles, then 7 years with BT as Director of Manufacturing Operations, Director of Mobile Communications and GM of Customer Service for UK business customers.

Peter Skinner graduated from Aberdeen University with a degree in English.
