Bolero

Hosting and Operations

The hosting and operations facilities of Bolero are designed to meet the exacting operational standards of the international trade community. All Bolero services are built on a redundant, clustered architecture with no single point of failure.

Rather than hosting its services directly, from its inception Bolero has pioneered the use of a full service hosting and operations partner to guarantee the robustness, security and compliance of both messaging and web application services and also to enable Bolero to act in the role of a neutral ‘trusted third party’.

Bolero and SWIFT jointly developed this operational model, initially hosting the Bolero services in secure SWIFT data centres. During 2010, Bolero, assisted by SWIFT, transitioned all Bolero services to a global third-party hosting partner to provide the operating infrastructure to underpin the future growth of Bolero’s multi-bank services.

As web-hosted software (Software as a Service or “SaaS”) has become more mainstream as an alternative to traditional “install on premises” software, the role of the hosting infrastructure has increased in importance particularly for enterprise applications and infrastructures. It is essential that such hosting meet the exacting compliance, security and audit needs of financial institutions as well as corporates.

Bolero services are hosted in dual, mirrored, geographically separate, Tier-3 certified and SSAE 16-compliant data centres, connected by high capacity cable. This hosting and operating environment delivers:
